3/16/26: I'm making another vase!
3/16/26
My brain does this thing all the time where I get fixated on making one kind of thing. And then my brain wonders "what if fixations fixed everything?" Even though I know this isn't true I find it a bewitching concept.
These are some actual things I've thought:
-"If I keep making cups then everything will be okay."
-"If I make a drawing every day then everything will be okay."
You get the picture. Today I had this kind of thought with vases. All I want to do is make vases. I haven't made one since last year and I'm not sure how or why I refrained for so long. My headspace while I'm making a vase is such a perfect place to be. It feels like being in love.
My mind has been so fervently flustered lately but tonight it was fully focused on one activity: painting this vase. Peaceful perfection. And it's extra peaceful to pretend one simple activity like this is a panacea. It's lovely to pretend doing one simple thing is the solution. Because sometimes it kind of is.
