6/26/26: Wear high-heels to go take out the garbage.

6/26/26

Clay is a constant. I like knowing that. There is so much unyielding uncertainty and so much that leaves your life and so much anxiety-inducing change. I need clay and I love that I found it and I love knowing it's going to stay in my life forever. I think a lot about how upset I am that it took me so long to find it. I'm an artist in other mediums but clay is such an important one to me. It's like the thing someone says to a person they're really over-the-moon about: "where have you been all my life?!"

Simple things I really love right now:

1. Taking care of my plants and the smell of wet soil when I water them.

2. Clay.

3. The coffee cup I made myself that I've been using exclusively everyday.

4. Selling my first ceramic piece and that stupendous feeling you get when someone loves your work.

5. Obsessing over my music playlists lately is very calming. I'm a perfectionist over them but a few have been quite tricky to figure out. It's a pleasing puzzle.

There's more stuff I love right now but that's all I can think of. My brain's in a fog today.

I got into the studio last night for an hour and threw on the wheel for the first time in about a month. It felt monumental. I felt elation.

I think some days are your boring days. I think today I am a very boring person. I feel very boring. It's kind of relaxing, though to feel boring. I'm cleaning, and none of my thoughts have been very intriguing today. The most interesting idea I've had is to wear high-heels to go take out the garbage. I have a pair because I find them to be a humorous type of shoe. I'll usually pull them out on Halloween. Today is definitely not the kind of day where I learn something intriguing like snail's having teeth. That was quite a day. I will never forget that day.
