8/9/26: We save each other some of the time.

"I have always felt that a human being could only be saved by another human being. I am aware that we do not save each other very often. But I am also aware that we save each other some of the time." -James Baldwin
Like light creeping in a dark room through a cracked door, death creeps in just as easily. My mom is the light in my life and without her the world does not make any sense. It is not possible to comprehend her dying.
I have been wearing my mom's winter hat non-stop. It's my new safety blanket. So much of what I've been feeling lately I can't really comprehend. All the feelings are there happening in my body, but it's twisting me up and I can't contain them and they hurt too much. These feelings are so large they feel like whole worlds with no end in sight. Sad worlds with lakes made of tears.
These photos are proof that I somehow don't cry every second of every day right now. The saline-free moments don't make any sense to me, but apparently they do exist.
